Sleepy Dog Conduct Code – No BS.

The reason for the Sleepy Dog conduct code? When I’m in the market to make a purchase, I dislike it when people use a bunch of marketing lingo or I visit a website filled with so many corporate buzzwords that I can’t figure out what they do.

This is the reason we instituted a strict “No BS” rule at Sleepy Dog. After all, if someone can’t explain a concept, product or service using plain language then they probably don’t understand it themselves.

No buzzwords allowed

People won’t buy unless they understand how your product or service solves their problem.  Using buzzwords and techno babble that causes confusion does not help.  Our goal is simple. Describe our process and services using everyday words, so you understand what you’re buying.

By asking a few questions at the beginning of our conversation, I learn your knowledge level and tailor my response to fit it.  It saves time and is a win-win for everyone.  After all, there’s no sense explaining things you already know though I’ll gladly go into detail as needed.

Keeping it real

We won’t tell you “just anything” to make the sale.  I’m sure you’ve dealt with a salesperson who made all kinds of promises to get you to sign on the dotted line only to realize later that they were never going to happen.  How did that feel? Not good, right?

That’s just bad business.  We don’t like it when someone does it to us and so, we’re not going to do it to another person.  Following the golden rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is a priority for us.

No magic pill

I confess, I’d probably make more sales if I would tell people what they wanted to hear.  Instead, I tell them what they NEED to hear.  There’s no magic pill that doubles your business overnight. Of course, that doesn’t mean we can’t help you, we certainly can.

However, we choose to be realistic about your results.  First, it does no good to say you’ll instantly double your sales as you’ll only be disappointed and upset if/when it doesn’t happen.  Secondly, you’ll have a hard time trusting anything else we say (and rightly so).

Trust is essential

It’s vital that our clients trust us, which won’t happen if we start out by lying to you.  Being truthful from the beginning is the only way to build a strong foundation, which is key in developing a lasting relationship.

Most of our clients have been with us for a LONG time.  Why is that? They know we’re always straight with them and they appreciate it.  You see, the longer we work with you, the better we know your products and services and the more effective we are at getting positive results.

In addition, we promise to provide the best solution FOR YOU, not the one that makes us the most money. We’re in it for the long haul and doing what’s best for our clients is always our priority.

Some of this may sound a little corny, but if you like our Sleepy Dog conduct code and are looking for a company that “tells it like it is”, then contact us. We’re ready to help you increase sales and grow your business.
